UN Has Requested Sri Lanka To Remove Sri Lankan Commander Of UN Peace Keeping Force In Mali

United Nations had requested Sri
Lankan Government to remove the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army team attached to United Nations Peace Keeping Force in State Of Mali in Africa Lieutenant Colnel Kalana Amunupura  siting allegations levelled against him on violating human rights .

The Spokesman of the United Nations Secretary General Stephan Dujark has said yesterday that Sri Lankan government should have removed the Colonel Amunupura from the UN Peace Keeping Force in Mali and recruit another Army officer as  a replacement.

However he has not given an exact  reason behind the request of removing colonel Amunupura.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Army has said although Sri Lanka will remove the Colonel Amunupura from Peace Keeping force as requested by UN he will be sent again to Mali after proving his innocence against the human rights violation charges levelled against him.

Opposition MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara To Take Legal.Action Against Selling Of Two Government Owned Laxurious Hotels

The Joint Oppopinion MP Vasudeva  Nanayakkara is to take legal action against selling of two of the Government owned Laxurious Hotels ,HIlton and Grand Hyatt in Colombo.

Addressing a media  briefing held in.Colombo yesterday  (19)MP Nanayakkara has said that he will take  legal Action against selling of the two hotels by showing a paper advertisement regarding the selling of these hotels.

Hotel Hilton is equipped with 19 stories and 297 hotel.tooms and the   Grand Hyatt Hotel which is under construction  is equipped with 47 stories and  475 Hotel Å•oons.Government owns 51 percent shares  of the Hotel HIlton and full ownership of Grand Hyatt Hotel .



Around 60,,000 Metric Tonnes Of Fruits Had Been Imported To Sri Lanka Last Year (2017)

Sri Lanka had  imported around 60,000 Metric tonnes of Fruits from foreign countries during last year(2017) although the country is rich with many fruits according to Minister Of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera .

Rs.9000 million had been spent to import the stock of fruits it has been revealed.

Government has recently decided to restrict importing of Fruits and Vegetables to Sri Lanka mainly by considering this situation and due to the depreciation of Sri Lankan Rupee against a US Dollar.
