A Parcel Contains 28 Gold Biscuits Had Been Recovered At Airport

Around 28 Gold Biscuits concealed in an empty Cigarette Cartons and stored near a Glass at the Katunayake Bandaranaike,International Airport had been recovered today (21) by a Duty Free shop worker it has been reported.

The Duty Free Shop worker had handed over the Parcel to the Airport customs.No owner of the parcel has been identified so far.


The stock of Gold Biscuits recoverd weighing around 3.248 Kilo Grammes and worth around Rs.10.95 Million according to customs.

Three Persons Have Been Arrested With 50 Barrels Of "Ethanol"

Three persons have been arrested by
the Excise Department Officials while with 50 Barrels of "Ethanol" in possession at Weligampitiya in Ja Ela and Makandura ateas last night(20).

Excise Department Officials had first arrested the suspects along with 15 Barrels of "Ethanol"  and after questioning them another 35 Barrels had been taken in to custody at Makandura area .A Container Truck used to transport these Barrels too have been taken in to custody by the officials during the raid.

The estimated value of the "Ethanol"taken in to custody is around Rs.10.3 million according to reports.

A businessman who is purchasing the Confiscated stocks of Ethanol had transported this stock of Ethanol it has been reported.The stock is not in condition for human consumption.
