A New Health Secretary Has Been Appointed
Ms.B.G.S Gunathilake has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine with effect from 17th of July by the President Maithripala Sirisena.
The New Health Ministry Secretary has been appointed as the former Health Secretary Janka Sugathdasa had retires from service on Tuesday(17).The New Health Secretary who had funtioned as the Additional Secretary (Administr
ations)of the Health Ministry since 2016.
She has also served as the Additional Secrarary to the Ministry of Housing and Construction.
Train Services In Upcountry Railway Line Are Not Functioning Due To A Derailed Train
Train services at the Upcountry Railway line have been not functioned at present due to the derailment of a Fuel transporting Train at Pilimathalawa Railway station last night(18).
The derailed Train had veered off the Railway track and caused the disruption of Train services in the Railway line it has been reported.
Due to this situation several Train Services in the route have been cancelled and some Trains are running up to Pilimathalawa Railway station according to the Authorities.
The removal of fuel from the oil tanks of the derailed Train and transporting them is currently underway and process is underway to bring back the derailed Train to normalcy.

A Large Acres Of Land In Degalaramba Reserve Have Been Destroyed Due To A Fire
Around 15 acres of land belonging to the Degalaramba Mountain reserve at Monaragala Provincial Secretariat have been destroyed due to a fire erupted in the reserve this noon(19).
A group of Army Personal in Kumbukkana area have managed to douse the fire after being informed by Disaster Management Center in the area, by this evening after struggling few hours it has been reported.
The fire had spreads across the reserve for few hours due to the strong winds and dry weather condition prevailing in the area.
The cause of the fire not yet been revealed.
