Haldummulla-Ginigathgala Road To Be Closed Due To The Landslide Threat

Haldummulla-Ginigathgala road in Badulla will be
 closed until further notice due to the landslide occurred in the area recently according
To the Haldummulla Provincial Secretariet.An alternative route will be created for the residents of the area soon as per the recommendations made by the report of the Land inquiry  made after the landslide authorities have stated.

Due to the recent landslide occured in the area ,around 350 families of the villages including  Ginigathgala and Kirimatiya are facing severe difficulties as they lost the road to travel it has been reported.

The Land inquiry report issued on the landslide in Haldummulla-Ginigathgala has also recommended people not to be around 100 meter area near the landslide location and not to remove debris in the road without a proper supervision.

Around 20 Unauthorized Hotels In Mirissa Had Been Demolished By The Authorities

Around 20 unauthorized hotels located in tourist attracted  Mirissa (Southern Province)area which had been maintained without  licenses ,were demolished by the officials of Coastal Conservation Department and Coastal Resources Management Department by using backo machines on last friday (11) as per the instructions of  President Maithripala Sirisena.

 Demolishing of the Unauthorized Tourist Hotels was done amidst tight security while Police officers and Riot police along with the  Tear Gas cansters standing near by as thr Residents of the area protested over the move.

Demolishing of tbe unauthorized hotels was done after few persons in the beech area  of Mirissa had sexually molested  a   female Dutch tourist on 08th of April.After the incident President has ordered the authorities to remove all the unauthorized constructions including of tourist hotels in the area to be demolished as a safety meassure to protect tourists against such incidents.

All constructions which are located within 300 meter area from the sea have been rated as  unauthorized according to the officials.



President Maithripala Sirisena Left Iran For An Official Tour

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (12) left to Iranian Capital Teheran for a two day official visit .

A ten member Sri Lankan delegation accompanying President Sirisena in the tour and during the visit President is due to hold bi lateral talks with Iranian Leaders.
