A Person Was Arrested Over Molesting A 70 Year Old Female

A 43 year old person was arrested by the Mundalama Police over forcibly brutally molesting of a 70 year old mother who lives alone in her house at Velusumanapura,Madurankuliya yesterday(26).

The suspect is due to produced before the Puttalam Magistrate Court today(27).

A Chinese Female Was Arrested With A Stock Of Foreign Made Cigarette Sticks At The Airport

A Chinese female was arrested by the Airport Customs officers this morning (27) with Cigarette cartons containing 20,980 Cigarette sticks manufactured in Dubai at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The estimated value of the stock of Cigarettes taken in to custody by the Airport customs in possession of the suspected female is around Rs.1.49 million it has been revealed.

The suspect had been ordered to pay Rs,50,000 fine over smuggling foreign made Cigarettes to the country by the customs.

Ammonia Tank Incident:Owner Of The Rubber Factory In Horana Had Surrendered To The Court

The owner of the Rubber Manufacturing Factory at Ballapitiya,Horana where five persons have died after falling to a Ammonia Tank of the factory, Sarath Wijeratne who had been missing since the incident had surrendered to the Horana Magistrate Court today(27) through a lawyer.

The case filed against the factory owned by the suspect was taken over for hearing today before the Horana Magistrate and the surrendered owner of the factory,the imprisoned senior Manager and chief female Lab Technologist have been remanded until 11th of May by the Magistrate.

Five persons have died and thirty five others were hospitalized over breathing problems due to the falling to a Ammonia Tank of the Rubber factory which reported as not maintain safety standards on 19th of April.

A Person Was Sentenced To Life Time Impriosnment Over Keeping More Than 05 Grammes Of Heroin

Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulathunge has today (27) sentenced a 45 year old person a lifetime imprisonment over keeping 05 Grammes and 700 Mili Grammes of Heroin in possession and smuggling Heroin .

The accused who was arrested by the Police Narcotic Bureau in 2912 at Mount Lavinia area had found guilty over keeping in possession and smuggling of Heroin it has been revealed.

The accused is a resident of Mount Lavinia area/
