A Special Parliamentary Debate On Adverse Weather Conditions Scheduled On This Friday

Government has decided to allocate this Friday (09)
for a special Parliamenrary debate on the Adverse Weather conditions prevailing in the country.

Earlier the opposition had requested a special Parliamentary debate on the Adverse Weather Conditions.

More Than 804,000 Have Been Displaced And Affected Due To Adverse Weather

More Than 804,000 persons have been displaced and affected due to the Adverse Weather conditions prevailed in the country since last week according to the Disaster Management Center.

Around 683,000 persons who have been affected and displaced due to the floods and landslides still in makeshift camps the Center has stated.

The Adverse Weather  have been affected to 15 districts and out of it 08 districts suffered the most it has been reported.

The water levels of majority of the submerged areas now receded and few places still under few feet  of water due to unauthorized constructions it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Minister Susul Premjayantha has taken the law into his hands last Saturday to remove a bridge which is an unauthorized construction lead to a company in Kaduwela as the residents of the area have complained that due to the bridge water level in the area  not receding .

Health Ministry Denied The GMOA' s Accusation On Dengue Drug "Dextran-40" Is Out Of Sttock

Ministry Of Health and National Dengue Control Unit have today(05) denied the accusations made by Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) that "Dextran-40" drug prescribed for Dengue Patients is out of stock in Government Hospitals and the Government Doctors denying prescription of the the drug imported from India.

"Dextran-40" drug only imported to Sri Lanka from Thailand and the drug is available in all the government hospitals in the country at present Health Ministry has stated.

Another stock of the drug is due to arrive from Thailand tomorrow(06) the Ministry has stressed.

Meanwhile Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has also denied the false accusations made by the Doctors Union over "Dextran-40" drug and stated that he is suspicious whether the doctors who spreads false rumors regarding the drug are really doctors.
