Imprisoned Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawansha Observed "Sil" In Prison

The imprisoned Joint Opposition MP and the leader of
National Freedom Front (NFF)Wimal Weerawansha had observed "Ata Sil" (a religious activity in Buddhism)during the Poya Day falls yesterday (12) at the temple attached to Colombo ,Magazine Prison.

The MP was remanded until 24th of January by the Colombo Fort Magistrate on last Wednesday (11)over misusing of around ninty state owned vehicles during the previous regime.

Spiritual Belief Brought Death To A 38 Year Old Female At Dummalasuriya

A 38 year old female has died after drinking a syrup
given by an Exorcist ( a person who performs a religious or spiritual practice of purpotedly evicting demons or other spiritual entities from a person or an area they are believed to have possessed) during an Exorcism held at Dummalasuriya area in Kuliyapitiya (North Western Province).

The female who was a resident in Bangadeniya in Chilaw  has  died on the  admission to the Hospital  after got allergic to the syrup provided by Exorcist according to the Police.

Dummalasuriya Police had arrested the Exorcist regarding the incident.

Health Ministry Has Banned Private Companies Promoting "Stents"Products In National Hospital Premises

Ministry Of Health has yesterday (11)instructed the
Director of Colombo National Hospital Dr.Anil Jasinghe to ban representatives of Private Surgical Manufacturing Companies which promotes 'Stents" entering the Cardiology Unit of the Hospital.

After an information received by the Ministry Officials that some Private Company representatives were present at Cardiology Unit premises in National Hospital yesterday evening to promote their "Stents"products Ministry has issued these instructions.

As the Ministry is providing "Stents' free of charge for cardiac patients in government hospitals free of charge at present, there's no need to allow private Surgical Manufacturing Cimpanies  to promote "Stents" in Cardiology Unit premises in National Hospital the Ministry has stated.
