Country Able To Earn A Trade Profit Of Rs.Six Billion Through Reducing Prices Of 48 Essential Drugs

Country has been able to earn a trade profit of Rs.6
billion through reducing prices of 48 essential drugs the Ministry of Health has announced.

Country can save more money spending to import western drugs to the country when 22 foreign drug companies begin manufacturing western drugs here through the manufacturing plants established in the country the Ministry has stated.

Around 22 foreign drug companies have signed agreements with the Health Ministry to begin manufacturing of western drugs locally.

If The Private Bus Operators Strike Again Against The Traffic Fine,Their Buses Should Be Taken Over By The Government- Health Minister

If the private bus operators again launch a strike
against imposing of Rs.25,000 minimum traffic violations fine, the licenses of these buses should be cancelled or all the striking buses should be taken over by  the government according to Minister of Health ,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

No matter who is opposing, the minimum traffic violations fine will be increased to Rs.25,000 as planned the Minister has stressed.

Some private bus unions recently stated that they will launch a bus strike again against the Rs.25,000 fine.

Seven Females And A Male Doctor Arrested At A Brothel House In Colombo

Seven females of the ages of 18-28 years and a male
doctor were arrested by the Nugegoda Police yesterday (11) at a Brothel House run as a massage center (SPA) in a luxury house at Pelawatte (Colombo).

The arrested females are identified as residents of Galle,Matara(Southern),Balangoda(Ratnapura),Gampaha and mathugama (Western Province) areas according to Police.


Construction Work Of Wlorld's Tallest Christmas Tree Has Resumed As Per The Instructions Of Prime Minister

The construction work of the World's tallest Christmas
Tree  at Galle Face Green of which the work stalled last week, has resumed again today (12) as per the instructions of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

Prime Minister Wikramasinghe and Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake met the Chief Archbishop in Colombo ,Cardinal Malcolm Ranjih on Sunday (11)and informed him that the tallest Christmas Tree is being build with foreign donations.

After the meeting Prime Minister is reported as instructed the Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranathunge to resume the work of Christmas Tree.

The building of the tree stopped after  finishing half of it  ,as  Cardinal Ranjith appealed the authorities to utilize the funds using to build the Christmas Tree for the poor.
