Colombo Additional Magistrate Has Granted Bail For 11 AVA" Group Suspects

court order සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලColombo Additional Magistrate has today(30) granted bail for 11 suspects believed to be members of  "Ava" Crimes Gang which terrorized several parts in Jaffna District .

Following the complaints received from residents in some parts of Jaffna the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) officials have arrested these suspects from several areas in Northern Province including Manipay,Kopai and Chunnakam.

After brought them to Colombo recently and produced before the court they were ordered to remand.

Police Have Arrested Five Sex Workers And Their Managress At A Brothel House In Pitakotte

arrested සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe Police Officers attached to District fraud unit of Mirihana Police had today(30)raided a Brothel House at Pitakotte(In Colombo) which maintained as a Massage Center and arrested six females it has been reported.

Five female sex workers and their Manageress were arrested during the raid according to the Police.

Ministry Of Transport Has Decided To Temporary Cancel The Leave Of SLTB Bus Staff

sltb buses සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe Ministry Of Transport and Civil Aviation has decided to temporary cancel the leave of Bus Drivers,Conductors and Technical Staff attached to the Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) Buses with effect from tomorrow(01) for a one week period as several Private Bus Operators and Railway Unions have announced an island wide strike action from tomorrow(01) on wards.

According to the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva extra buses and train services will be deployed from tomorrow to avoid any inconvenience for passengers due to the strike action . 

Under this plan the number of SLTB Buses operated at present have been increased from 5300 to 6000.The decision to deploy extra buses and train services has been taken in convenience of the applicants sitting for this years G.C.E O/Level Examination which begins on 06th of December.

A Large Number Of Persons Dying Annually Due To Poisioning Of Antibiotics Than Those Dying From Cancers

Globally a large number of persons dying annually
due to poisioning of Antibiotic drugs than those dying due to cancers according to the Microbiologist Dr.Kusalani Jayalath.

Even in Sri Lanka a large number of patients admitted to hospitals due to taking Antibiotics without a doctor's prescription and some of these cases are fatal she has stressed while addressing a media briefing held today (29) at Health Education Bureau on 'Antibiotic Resistance".

People must realize that Antibiotics  should be used according to a prescription of a recognized doctor and Antibiotcs are only prescribed for bacterial infections not the viral infections including common,cold,cough and fever she has stated.

Addressing the media briefing Consultant Physician Dr.Priyankara Jayawardena has said that Doctors are the only ones who can prescribe Antibiotics to a patient and unfortunatly a large number of pharmacists especially in  private pharmacies are trying to recommend the patients what kind of Antibiotic they should purchase .

"If a pharmacist recomends Antibiotic to a patient it is illegal and in such circumstances the licence of that pharmacist is liable to be cancelled Dr.Jayawardena has stressed.
