Representatives Of All Ceylon Private Pharmacy Owners Union And Drug Traders Association To Corporate The Selling Of 48 Price Reducted Drugs For Reduced Prices

Image result for drugsThe representatives  of All Ceylon Private Pharmacy Owners  Union and Drug Traders Association had met the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Drug Regulatory Authority today(24) and assured that they will corporate the  implementation of   Gazette Notification issued by the Minister of Health last Friday by reducing prices of 48 varieties of essential drugs in the market.

During the meeting the Representatives had also informed the chairman of the Drug Regulatory Authority Professor Asitha De Silva and Chief Executive Officer of the Authority Dr.Kamal Jayasinghe that they are facing difficulties when implementing the reduced Drug Prices as Companies importing Drugs to Sri Lankan not taken steps to withdraw the previous stocks of drugs issued to them and issue a fresh stocks of drugs marked with reduced prices .

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Drug Regularity Authority had promised the representatives of All Ceylon Private Pharmacy Owners Association and Drug Traders Association to solve their problem through discussion with Drug Importing Companies under the instructions of Health Minster.

Air Port Customs Officers Had Arrested A Sri Lankan With 36,200 Illegal Cigarettes At Katunayake Air Port

Image result for katunayake air portThe Air Port Customs Officers had today(24) arrested a Sri Lankan who arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port from Dubai with a stock of 36,200 Illegal Cigarettes concealed in his luggage .

The worth of the stock of Cigarettes arrested by the Air Port Customs is  worth around Rs,1.5 million it has been reported.

The suspect who is a Dematagoda Resident arrived in Katunayake Air Port from a Fly Dubai Flight  and he had been previously too arrested by the Air Port Customs officers while attempting to smuggle illegal Cigarettes to the country according to sources.

The Air Port Customs Officers had fined the suspect Rs.150,000 after conducted an investigation on the incident and Customs are further investigating on the incident.

Former Batticaloa Mayor And Three Others Were Remanded Until 07th Of November

Image result for court orderFormer Mayor of Batticaloa Sivageetha Prabhakaren who was arrested by the Police yesterday(23) at her residence in  Batticaloa on charges of running a Brothel at home has been remanded until 07th of November by Batticaloa Magistrate today(24).

Three other suspects arrested at former Mayor's house in Batticaloa including two females involved in prostitution had been also remanded until 07th of November .The suspects were remanded after they have been produced before the court this morning. 

However five other suspects arrested by the Police during the raid carried out at former Batticaloa Mayor's residence yesterday including her husband had been released on bail by the Magistrate.

It has been revealed that the former Mayor Prabhakaren run the Brothel under a name Holiday Resort .
