Navy Personal Have Arrested A Person With 300 Tablets Of Prescribed "Tramadol" Drug At Handala Area

Navy Personal in Welisara area  have today(08)arrested a person with around 300 prescribed pain killer medicinal tablets  "Tramadol" in his possession at a filling station in Handala Area.

The suspect was arrested as per a tip received by the Navy Personal and he along with the  stock of tablets were handed over to the Mahabage Police for future course of action according to Navy.

"Tramadol" is a narcotic like pain killer medicinal drug prescribed for severe pain and whenever the dose of this drug changed breathing may stop according to medical sources.Misuse of this drug may result  in addiction the sources have stated.

Police Task Force Personal Arrested Four Persons With Waste Tea

The Police Special Task Force Personal had today (08)arrested two persons who were transporting a stock of Waste Tea from a lorry at Sapugaskanda,Makola area.

As per the information receieved from them the Task Force Personal had raided a storage facility  which stored  waste tea and arrested another two persons along with 48,160 kilo grammes of waste tea it has been reported.

The suspects were released on police bail and ordered to appear before Mahara Magistrate Court on 14th of October.


A Female Had Been Killed And Her Two Small Children Were Injured Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A female had been killed and her two small children were injured and hospitalized due to a wild elephant attack occurred in Dangaswewa at Thanthirimale (In North Central Province) area today (08).

The injured children of the ages seven and three were admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment.

Thanthirimale Police are conducting Further investigations on the incident.

Two Youths Were Drowned Whilst Bathing In Weheragoda Tank

Two youths were drowned in Weheragoda  Tank at Padiyathalawa (In Eastern Province)today (08)whilst bathing there it has been reported.

The  drowned youth were later rescued but they have died after admission to the Padiyathalawa Hospital .The deceased were bathing with another two persons when they were drowned according to the reports.

The deceased youth were residents in Padiyathalawa Area.
