Electricity Tariffs Will Not Be Increased-Ministry Of Power And Energy

Image result for electricityThe Electricity Tariffs will not be increased under any circumstance the Ministry Of Power and Energy has announced today(04).

Although the cost of Generating Electricity is forecast ed to increase between October 2016 to March 2017 under special circumstances like severe dry weather condition the Ceylon Electricity Board has suggested a 5% tariff increase as a solution to the increase of Electricity cost.

Sri Lanka's Budget Carrier Mihin Lanka To Suspend Their Flights From 30th Of October

Image result for mihin lankaSri Lanka's Budget Carrier which faces financial difficulties "Mihin Lanka" has decided to suspend all their flights and services with effect from 30 th of October according to the Air Lines.

The suspended flying routes of Mihin Lanka will be carried out by the National Carrier Sri Lankan Air Lines after 30th of October according to sources.

Sri Lankan Government has taken a decision to suspend the flights and services of Mihin Lanka Air Lines as part of it's long term strategy   to restructure the local aviation industry and strengthening the efficiency and services of national carrier Sri Lankan Air Lines the sources have stated.

During it's term the Mihin Lanka established by the previous government covered the flying roots including Dhaka in Bangaladesh,Jakartha and Medan in Indonesia,Buddhagaya,Varanasi,Madurai and Kolkata in India,Baharain and Sarjah in Middle East ,Sey Schelles and Lahore in Pakistan,

Value Added Tax Bill Was Presented To The Parliament

Image result for parliament sri lankaThe Value Added Tax(Amendment) Bill was presented to the Parliament by Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella this evening.

The new Amendments made to this Bill had been approved by the Cabinet on 13th of September.

Accordingly the Value Added Tax(VAT) will be increased to 15% from 11% of the services including Tobacco,Air Line Ticket Prices,Telecom and Private Medical Services excluding dialysis,diagnostic tests and OPD Services it has been reported.

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order in July by preventing the government from implementing 4% VAT increase until the Cabinet and Parliament give permission for that.

The pain may:
  • Start suddenly in the center of the upper belly (epigastric area) and spread to the right upper back or shoulder blade area. It is usually hard to get comfortable. Moving around does not make the pain go away.
  • Prevent you from taking normal or deep breaths.
  • Last 15 minutes to 24 hours. Continuous pain for 1 to 5 hours is common.
  • Begin at night and be severe enough to wake you.
  • Occur after meals.

Gallstone pain can cause vomiting, which may relieve some of the belly (abdominal) pain and pressure. Pain that occurs with a fever, nausea, and vomiting or loss of appetite may be a sign of inflammation or infection of the gallbladder (acute cholecystitis). Symptoms that may mean that a gallstone is blocking the common bile duct include:
  • Yellowing of the skin and the white part of the eyes (jaundice).
  • Dark urine.
  • Light-colored stools.
  • A fever and chills.

  • Call your doctor immediately if you have:
  • Pain that may be caused by gallstones (continuous moderate to severe pain in the upper right abdomen ) along with a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher and chills that are clearly not caused by stomach flu or any other reason.
  • Pain in the upper midsection or upper right abdomen, along with a yellow tint to your skin and the white part of your eyes, dark yellow-brown urine, or light-colored stools.
  • Diabetes or an impaired immune system and you have symptoms that may be caused by gallstones.
If you have symptoms of gallstones but no fever, chills, or yellowing of your skin or the white part of your eyes, you may still require evaluation and treatment. Schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Price Of A Cigarette Has Been Increased By Seven Rupees

Image result for price increase of cigarettesThe price of a Cigarette has been increased by Rs.7 with effect from midnight last night according to the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The Cabinet has last week approved a proposal to impose a 15% VAT(value added tax) on Cigarettes and to increase the production tax imposed on Cigarette  by Rs.5.

In view of reducing  the smoking habit of  locals Cabinet has also approved a proposal to increase the Cess Tax imposed on imported Beedi(Locally made Cigarettes) Leaves from Rs.2000 to Rs.3000.
