President Has Extended The Service Of Army Commander Chrishantha De Silva

President Maithripala Sirisena has today (16) extended the service of Army Commander Lieutenant General Chrishantha De Silva who is due to retire, for one year period with effect from 22nd of August it has been reported.

Lieutenant General Chrishantha De Silva who is the 21st Army Commander in Sri Lanka had been appointed to that position  by the President on February 2015.

He has also served as a commander in  chief of the Volunteer Force.

Sri Lanka Navy Had Detained 18 Sri Lankans Who Were Sailing Towards Australia Illegally

Sri Lanka Navy Personal had today (16) detained 18 Sri Lankans who were on  board of a deep sea fishing trawler which sailing towards  Australia illegally  at the  seas of eastern Batticaloa.

The detainees had boarded the trawler at Valachchena Area it has been revealed.

The Navy Personal had brought back the 18 detainees  to Trincomalee Harbor and handed them over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations on the incident.

Bribery Commission Had Filed A Case Against Former UPFA MP Sajin Vaas At Colombo Magistrate Court

Image result for sajin vass gunawardenaThe Bribery Commission had today (16) filed a case against the former  United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardane at Colombo Magistrate Court over the charges of making  Mihin Lanka Air Lines to pay Rs.883 million for illegal supply of ground equipment made by a Singaporean Company.

The former MP Sajin Vaas was charged by the Bribery Commission for illegally made a contract with a Singaporean Company to supply ground support equipment to Mihin Lanka Air Lines and making the Air Lines to pay the money for the supplier.

By considering these facts the magistrate court has today ordered the former MP to appear before court on 20th of August.

French Navy Vessel "Revi" Arrived In Trincomalee Harbor For A Goodwill Visit

The French Naval Vessel "Revi" has yesterday(15) arrived in Trincomalee Harbor for a goodwill visit according to the  Sri Lanka Navy.

The ship is due to stay in Sri Lanka until 18th of August(Thursday) and during it's stay scheduled  to participate several programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.

Sri Lanka Navy Officers have ceremonially welcomed the "Revi" ship and it's crew according to traditional Navy customs on the arrival.

Owner Of A Trade Center Situated Near Destroyed Salawa Army Camp Has Died Due To A Wall Collapsed On Him

Image result for wall collapseAn owner of a Trade Center Building situated near the Salawa Army Camp which destroyed due to an explosion on last June, has died this morning as a wall in his trade center had collapsed on him .

The 68 year old Businessman has faced this unexpected incident while cleaning the debris at his trade center it has been reported.

His body had been sent to Salawa Hospital and the Kosgama Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Due to the Salawa Army Camp explosion occurred on 05th of June this year several houses and trade centers in and around the Army Camp  have been destroyed .
