Police Have Detained A Businessman In Dehiwala For Kidnapping Another Businessman

The Mirihana Police have today (24) detained a businessman in Dehiwala (In Colombo) for kidnapping another Businessman  and taking a ransom of Rs.3  million ftom him  with the help of seven underworld persons .

The kidnapping  had occurred on 28th of June and the victim has been identified as a businessman chandana wijemanna in Kaluthara who is the brother of MP Lakshman Wijemanna.

The Mirihana Police have today detained the suspected businessman and ceized the Rs.3 million ransom money along with his vehicle.

Ella Police Have Detained A British Female Tourist While Begging For Money By Playing A Violin

The Ella (In Badulla District) police have detained a young British female tourist who was playing a violin by sitting on the road side at Ravana Ella area to beg money it has been reported.

The 24 year old female tourist who arrived in Sri Lanka on 08th of July for a ond month period has told the police that she has decided to beg money by playing the violin as she has no money to cover her daily expenses.

The police have later warned and released the tourist .Under the Immigration and Emigration Act in Sri Lanka begging is strictly prohibited for
foreigners who arrived here as tourists . 

One Person Was Killed And Four Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Car-Lorry Collision

One person was killed and four others got injured and  hospitalized due to a head on collission between a motor car and a lorry at pahala madurupitiya in Attangalla (In Western Province) this evening.

The injured were admitted to the wathupitiwala hospital for treatment and few who are in critical condition were later transferred to the Colombo,National Hospital.

The victims of the accident are attached to a company in katunayake free trade zone it has been reported.
