Court Refused To Grant Bail To Former Crimes OIC -Narahenpita Who Had Detained Over The Murder Of Former Rugby Player

Image result for court order clip artThe Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris has today(12) refused  granting  bail to former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who had detained over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused to accept the bail application filed behalf of detained former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police after Government Lawyer has  explained that if the former Crimes OIC granted bail it may have  pressurized the witnesses of the Thajudeen's Murder Case as currently investigations are underway on several higher rank police officers believed  to be linked to the murder.

After considering the proposed facts the Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused  granting  bail to the former Crimes OIC Of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera and ordered to remand  him further  until 26th of May.

Government Will Not Allow Anyone To Commemorate LTTE-State Minister Of Defense

Image result for state minister ruwan wijewardeneThe State Minister Of Defense Ruwan Wijewardene has stated today(12) that the Government will not allow anyone to commemorate the terrorist organization LTTE but will not oppose commemorating Sri Lanka's war victims.

"Although the government  will not opposing the commemoration of those who died during the war in North and East it will not allow to hoisting LTTE Flags or commemoration of  LTTE as it's an internationally banned terrorist  organization" the state minister of defense has stressed.

The government had already informed the Police and Armed Forces on this he has further stated.

International Cricket Council Lifted The Temporary Suspension Imposed On Sri Lanka Cricketer Kusal Janith

The International Cricket Council(ICC) has today(12) lifted the temporary suspension  imposed on Sri Lanka's Wicket Keeper Batsman Kusal Janith Perera  for an anti dope violation it has been announced.

Kusal Janith was temporarily suspended from playing all forms of cricket with effect from December 2015 after two urine samples of him  tested positive for anabolic steroid -19 "Noarandrostenedione".

However on Wednesday a well known laboratory based in Qatar World Anti Doping Agency has withdrawn it's adverse analytical finding of Cricketer's Urine Samples after an independent review made by International Cricket Council has stated the earlier findings of his  Urine Samples were not sustainable due to various technical and scientific reasons, The substance found from Kusal Janith's Urine Samples can naturally produced in the player's body or formed samples after player provided them.



Detained Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Released On Bail

The former minister of economic development basil rajapakshe who was detained by financial crimes investigation division(FCID) this morning over a land issue has been released on bail this evening after produced before Matara Magistrate Court .

The former minister who is the younger brother of former president mahinda rajapakshe has been released by Matara Magistrate on cash bail of Rs.50,000 and three personal bails of Rs.1 million each it has been reported.

Former Minister basil rajapakshe was ordered by the Matara Magistrate to appear before FCID every Sunday weekly.

FCID has detained former minister rajapakshe this morning after he gave a statement regarding the allegation leveled against him.
