Sixteen Tamil Prisoners In Welikada And Anuradhapura Prisons Are In Hunger Strike

Around 16 Tamil Prisoners held in Welikada and Anuradhapura  Prisons for their suspicious links with LTTE Terrorists are being on Hunger Strike since Monday(22) by demanding their early release.

The detainees who are in Hunger Strike have alleged that the authorities have  held them in Prisons for longer period without any allegation .

Two Customs Officers Arrested In Connection With Rs.125 Million Bribery Case Were Remanded Until 10th Of March

The two Customs Officers who were arrested by Bribery Commission Officials on Wednesday(24) in connection with Sri Lanka's biggest ever Bribery Case worth Rs.125 Million have been remanded until 10th Of March by Colombo Magistrate .

The two suspects Upali Wikramasinghe and Wasantha Wimalaweera have been remanded after being produced before Colombo Magistrate Court yesterday(25).

Earlier Three Customs Officers  have been arrested  regarding the Rs.125 Million Bribery Case on 15th October 2015.

Accordingly Sri Lanka has signed several bi lateral agreements with German and Austrian Governments recently to bring knowledge on Higher Technology and to exchange Education  during his tours to  those countries President Sirisena has said.

Children should be equipped with knowledge on higher technology and Education in order to win today's world he has said.

President has revealed this while addressing the Annual Prize Giving of Sri Lanka Institute Of Information Technology in Malabe yesterday(25).

Iran Agreed To Supply Crude Oil To Sri Lanka For Lower Prices-Finance Minister

The Government of Iran has agreed to supply Crude Oil to Sri Lanka for lower prices according to the Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

The Iranian Minister Of Power And Energy has met Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Ministry Of Finance yesterday (25) and discussed on supplying of Iranian Crude Oil to Sri Lanka for lower prices,

With this agreement Sri Lanka has able to initiate Trade Ties with Iran Minister Karunanayake has said.
