Telephone Charges Are Likely To Be Increased From 0st Of January

Image result for telephone charges will increaseTelephone Charges may be increased with effect from  01st of January next year(2016) due to the Duty Revision suggested through the 2016 Annual Budget Proposals presented to  Parliament on last Friday(20)according to Ministry Of Finance.

Through the Budget Proposals it has been suggested to increase the 11% current VAT(Value Added Tax) charge which added to Telephone Bills to 12.5% the Ministry has said.

The Ministry of Finance is due to announce the changes  made to the  Telephone Charges due to Duty Revision within next few days it has been reported.

Indian Coast Guard Has Sent Back 34 detained Sri Lankan Fishermen To Sri Lanka

The Eastern Region Indian Coast Guard has sent back 34 Sri Lankan fishermen who were in Indian Custody for violating International Boundry Line by fishing in Indian Waters to Sri Lanka according to reports.

As a part of Repatriation Process between Sri Lanka and India regarding the fishermen issue Indian Coast Guard Ship Rajkamal has brought the 34 Sri Lankan Fishermen to Karaikal Port today and handed over to them to Sri Lankan Authorities.

Meanwhile according to repatriation process Sri Lankan Authorities have today (22)sent back  Two Indian Fishermen who were arrested while fishing in Sri Lankan Waters at Bay Of Bengal to India.The two fishermen along with their boat due to arrive Karaikal Port later tonight.

Sri Lanka Customs Officers Have Arrested A Sri Lankan Male At The Air Port With Over Rs.10.1 Million Worth Foreign Currency

Sri Lanka Customs Officers have this morning arrested a Sri Lankan Male at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port who tried to leave the country with Foreign Currency worth over  Rs.10.1 million in his possession.

Customs Officers have found 28,500 Euros. 11,000 Australian Dollars ,15,000 Swiss Francs and 1500 US Dollars in possession of the 58 year old suspect.

Prices Of Liquors ,Arrack And Beer Have Been Increased

Due to the New Duty Revision the Prices of Liquors Local Arrack and Beer have been increased by Rs.30 and and Rs.10 respectively according to Ministry Of Finance.

Accordingly the Price of a Bottle Of Arrack has been increased to Rs.150 from Rs.120 and Price Of Beer has been increased to Rs.40 from Rs.30 the Ministry has said.

Government To Remove Names Of Eight Tamil Groups From The List Of Banned Terrorist Organizations

Image result for decision in wordsImage result for decision in wordsThe Government has announced it had removed the names of eight foreign based Tamil  Groups from the List Of banned terrorist Organizations with effect from 20th November  as a part of a reconciliation efforts with Tamil Community in Sri Lanka.

However Eight Terrorist Organizations including LTTE (Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Ealam) which was crushed by Sri Lankan Army in 2009 after getting involved in three decades of War in Sri Lanka will  remained in the list as  Banned Terrorist Organizations the  Government has said.

The names of the Tamil Groups   that have been removed from the list of Banned Terrorist Organizations are Global Tamil Forum,Canadian Tamil Congress,British Tamil Forum,Canadian  Tamil National Council,Tamil National Council ,Tamil Youth Organization ,Australian Tamil Congress and Global Tamil Coordination Committee

The previous government has declared Sixteen Tamil Organizations including LTTE as Banned Terrorist Organizations on March 2014.

The Ministry Of Defense from a Special Gazette Notification has announced the ban imposed on Tamil Ealam Liberation Organization,Tamil Rehabilitation Organization,Tamil Coordinating Committee,Global Tamil Organization,Tamil Ealam State Beyond Boundaries,Tamil Ealam Peoples Summit,Global Tamil Welfare Fund and Headquarter Office have been  further extended.

Government has also lifted the ban imposed on 269 persons in 2014 over involving  in Terrorist Activities .A Total number of 424 persons have been banned in Sri Lanka for involving in Terrorist Activities it has been stated.
