Tamil Political Prisoners Have Ended Their Hunger Strike

Around 200 Tamil Political Prisoners who were engaged in a hunger strike at Sri Lanka's lPrisons against being jailed without any trial for years have ended the strike following an assuarance given by President Maithripala Sirisene.

According to Commissioner General Of Prisons Rohana puspakumara ,these political prisoners have ended their hunger strike due to the assuarance given by President Srisenen that grievances of the prisoners would be addressed  by 07th of November.

Mahout Had Died After Been Attacked By An Elephant At Godakawela

A 50 year old Mahout has died yesterday(18) as a result of been attacked by an Elephant at Godakawela Area(Sabaragamuwa Province).

The Mahout was attacked by the Elephant when he tried to give morning meal to Elephant according to Police.The Mahout who was in the profession for 30 years had died upon admission  to Godakawela District Hospital with critical injuries.

CID Has Sealed Another Three Containers Of Ammunition And Weapons Belonging To Floating Armory Ship

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has sealed Three Containers Of Ammunition and Weapons belonging to the floating armory Ship of Avant Guarde Maritime Services  anchored in Galle Harbor According to Police.

The Floating Armory Ship  was taken in to custody by Sri Lanka Navy few months ago and around 900 firearms  and 200,000 bullets were found onboard  the Ship previously.

Navy has carried out the preliminary investigations on the Arms Ship and later the investigations have been handed over to CID after Navy had lodged a complaint with the Galle Harbor Police.

Former Head Of The LTTE'S Women's Wing Thamilini Has Died From Cancer At Maharagama Cancer Hospital

The former head of the LTTE''s Women's Wing Political Division Subramanium Sivakamy (Colonal Thamilini ) has today(18) died from Cancer While receiving treatment at Cancer Hospital -Maharagama.She was admitted to the hospital few days ago for  treatment.

Forty Three Year old Thamilini who was from Paranthan ,Kilinochchi had been captured by Sri Lankan Armed Forces in 2009 during the final stage of war against LTTE and held in Welikada Prison for three years.Later she was moved to Poonthottam Rehabilitation Center and released to her family in June 2013.
