Around 40 ,000 Killos Of Vegetables Destroyed At Dambulla Economic Center

It has been reported that around  40,000 Kilo Grammes of Vegetables were destroyed by vendors  at Dambulla Economic Center this morning due to Low Prices and Lack of Demand.According to vendors  although there is an extra supply of Vegetables to the center, due to  lack of Demand for these Vegetables and also due to they are perishable they have no other option then destroying them.

Some Vegetables like Tomatoes and Cabbages are selling as low as Rs.2 and 5 per kilo respectively while the prices of these in Colombo are 40 or 50 folds higher then above prices.
