The Post Master General M.K.B Dissanayake has decided to resigned from his post according to Postal Department Sources.In the recent past Postal Trade Unions time to time urged the government to removed Mr.Dissanayake from his post due to some controversial events taken place within the Department,The Join Postal Trade Union even staged a "satyagraha" in front of Postal Department in this regard.Meanwhile Mr.Dissanayake is reported as saying that he has not resigned from his post but asked a transfer to another post.Soon after the news broke in on the resignation of Post master General, Government has appointed Rohana Abeyratne as the new Post Master General with effect from 01st of February.
