Government Decided Not To Increase Gas Prices


The Government has decided not to Increase the Gas Prices despite requests made by Shell and Laugfs Companies for a Price Increase Minister Of Consumer Affairs Bandula Gunawardena says today.


Earlier the Minister said that a reasonable Increase of the Gas Prices will be implemented tonight after having discussions with Gas Companies.

Election Candidates To Apply For Additional Security


The Candidates contesting for the Forthcoming General Elections need to apply for an additional security if they needs and they will be provided with the security based on the threat levels of the candidates and on the recommendations of the Ministry Of Defense according to the Police Department.

The Gas Prices To Be Revised From Tomorrow


The Price Of Gas is to be revised and there will be a reasonable Gas Price Hike taken place with the effect from Midnight tomorrow the Consumer affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardana has been announced today.

According to the Minister Gunawardena Gas Companies are proposing a Rs.200 Price Hike for a Gas Cylinder but he has refused to do so.Anyway a reasonable price hike will come into effect from tomorrow night following a discussions with Gas Companies in to the matter the minister stressed.

Police Taken 12 Killos Of Illegal Narcotics To Custody


The Police today crack down an Illegal Narcotics dealing and have seized 12 Kilo Grammes and 665 Grammes of Cannabis from Kahatagasdigiliya area according to the Police Spokesman.A 24 year old man who was arrested with the Drugs is due to face a trial at High Court of Anuradhapura.

General Fonseka To Face New Charges


Retired General Sarath Fonseka who got arrested by the Military Police two weeks ago will face new charges under the Penal Code and Exchange Control Act within next two weeks Minister Professor G.L Pieris said today.According to the Minister General Fonseka will face charges in Civil Court.

General Fonseka who was the common presidential candidate of the opposition at the concluded presidential elections is due to face Court Martial Trial and according to the Government Sources the recording of the evidences on the charges leveled against him are almost on the finishing line.
