Father Of The Former LTTE Leader Passed Away

Father of the slain ed LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaren Thiruvengadam Velupillai was died last night on natural causes while in the Military Protection.The father of the LTTE Leader who is 86 was suffering from several disorders including paralysis and he was recently got admitted to the National Hospital Colombo for treatment.

Deputy Minister Sellasamy Too Joined Sarath Fonseka


The Deputy Minister of Telecommunications Mr.S.Sellasamy today expressed his support for the Common Presidential Candidate of the Opposition General Sarath Fonseka at a ceremony in Colombo.The Deputy Minister had extend his support to General Fonseka at the Ceremony on introducing General's Election Manifsto.

Media Minister On TNA 'S Support Over Common Candidate


Media Minister and Cabinet Spokesman Lakshman Yapa Abeywardhana said that the TNA decided to support the common presidential Candidate General Sarath Fonseka due to he agreed the controversial requests of TNA to remove all high security zones in the North and East and to release the pro LTTE Suspects who are currently in Jail.

Tamil National Alliance Decided To Support General Fonseka For Presidency


The Tamil National Alliance(TNA) today expressed their support over the Common Presidential Candidate General Sarath Fonseka and urged Tamil People in the Country to Vote for him in the Forthcoming Presidential Elections.Speeking at a Press Briefing held at the Parliamentary Premises today The leader of the TNA R.Sampanthan said that there is no agreement signed between the TNA And General Fonseka over the demands of TNA.

He also stressed that the TNA agreed to support the General as he understand the need of an acceptable solution for the Tamil Problem more then Pesident Mahinda Rajapaksha.

SLFP Organier Expressed His support to General

The Ampara District Organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) Mayantha Dissanayake today extended his support towards the Common Opposition Candidate Sarath Fonseka.He expressed his decision at a Rally held at Ampara .

Meanwhile there is a speculation that Mayantha's Brother Navin Dissanayake who is currently serving as a Minister of the Present Government too is going to support the Common Candidate in coming days.

Government And Opposition Supporters Clashed At Kiribathgoda


Kiribathgoda Area bacame a small battlefield this morning as the Government Supporters are clashed with a group of United National Party(UNP)and Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) supporters who were distributed leaflets in the area to support opposition Candidate General Sarath Fonseka.Riot Police rushed to the scene as the Government Supporters equipped with poles and stones are hitting the opposition Supporters.

Riot Police used Tear Gas to disperse the attackers.Three got injured due to the incident and admitted to the North Colombo Teaching Hospital according to the Police.

Meanwhile addressing a Press Briefing in Colombo JVP MP Vijitha Herath said that the Thugs belongs to the Mad Dog in the area attacked peaceful Opposition Supporters.

The Leader of the Up Country Peoples Front(UPF) and the Minister of Community Development and Social Inequity P.Chandresekeran was passed away this Morning at a Private Hospital after brief illness.

He recently express his solidarity to President Mahinda Rajapaksha recently.UPF Member P.Arusal is expected to fill the Vacancy of Minister Chandresekeran.
