A Large Haul Of LTTE Weapons Recovered From Colombo Suburbs

A Large Haul of Weapons hidden by LTTE were recovered from near a house at Malfred Crescent, Dehiwala in the Colombo Suburbs during yesterday evening According to the Police Spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Madiwaka.These Weapons including a Quantity of Detenators,Remote Controller,A Receiver,Six Timers,Four poweful Boosters and a Canvas Belt He stressed.

This Raid was carried out by the State Intelligance Service and the Dehiwala Police according to the Statements given by the LTTE Suspects who are in Police Custody.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister To Meet UN Secretary General During The UN Assembly

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka who is due to leave to New York to attend the 64th United Nations General Assembly to be begin on Tuesday will meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon The Foreign Ministry said.Premier is leading the Sri Lankan Delegation to UN Assembly which also include the Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama.

Prime Minister is due to address the UN General Assembly on 26th on "Strengthening of Multilateral ism and Dialogue among Civilizations for International Peace, Security and Development”.He is also due to address the Asia Society in New York under the Theme Sri Lanka’s Challenges ahead: Post LTTE Scenario and Ensuring Sustainable Peace”.

Police Uncovered A Large Number Of Documents Belongs To The LTTE

Sri Lankan Police today uncovered a large number of Documents containing around 10,000 Names of LTTE Cadres at a Place in Thoppigala Area in the Eastern Sri Lanka.

A special Police Team also recovered a large stock of Documents related to funding,banking,membership network and details of Maha Viru Families of LTTE according to the Police Sources.

The Coconut Cultivation in the Matara District of Southern Sri Lanka has been affected with a Virus according to the Ceylon Coconut Board.The Board is seeking the Public Assistance to prevent the spreading of this Virus Islandwide.

Six Hundred IDP Families To Be Re Settlled Tomorrow

Around 600 IDP Families staying at Welfare Villages in the Northern Sri Lanka are scheduled to Re Settled in their Native Places tomorrow.Visiting Under Secretary (Politics) of the United Nations Lynn Pascoe also stressed the Government the need of Re Settling these IDP's.
Sri Lankan Government already decided to Re Settle around 150,000 IDP'S in Mid October this year.The delay of Re Settling these IDP'S is due to the clearing of mines in the most parts of the North and the LTTE Cadres who are hiding among these IDP'S according to Government Sources.

Meanwhile Secretary General of the Rights of the Internally Displaced Persons Walter Kaelin also due to visit Sri Lanka Next Weak to discuss on IDP'S.
