Pakistan National Cricket Team Arrived Sri Lanka

The National Cricket Team of Pakistan arrived Sri anka today for a month long Cricket Tour.They are due to play Three Match Test series,Five One Day Internationals and a One Twenty - Twenty Cricket Match with Sri Lankan Cricket Team.

The Pakistani Team is captained by Younis Khan .

Two Crew Members Of The Captian Ali Ship Wants to Go Home

Two Crew members of the controversial Ship "Captain Ali" Vessel which is anchored out side the Chennai Port in India requested Indian Authorities to give them permission to disembark the Vessel so they can take a flight back to their home countries.

The Vessel which carried a shipment of relief material donated by the Tamil Diaspora in United Kingdom for the IDP'S in the Northern Sri Lanka was turned away by the Sri Lankan Navy few weaks ago after it entered to Lankan Waters illegally.Then the Ship was moved to Chennai Port and last wednesday Sri Lankan Government agreed to take the Shipment after the Indian Government requested them to do so.Uthayanan Thavarajasingam and Kristjan Gudmundssonare are the two crew members who requested Indian Authorities to allow them to fly back to London and Icland respectively.

Swine Flu And Dengue Patients In Sri Lanka are On Increse

Three new Swine Flu Patients and 357 New Dengue Patients were added yesterday to the total number of these Flu Patients in Sri Lanka.Seven Dengue deaths too were reported yesterday alone bringing the total number of Dengue deaths this year to 153.

Two Sri Lankans a Mother and Daughter returned from USA and A Lankan teenager returned from Australia were the latest Swine Flu Victims as the total number of Swine Flu Patients are increased to 13.Another three Suspected Patients along with Nine Swine Flu Patients are now receiving treatment at the Angoda Fever Hospital in Colombo.

According to the Epidemiology Unit around 12,744 Dengue Patients were reported from sri lanka this year up to now and it has became a Pandemic in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan Government To Accept the Goods Of Capttian Ali Ship

Sri Lankan Government agreed to take the relief malarial Shipment carried out by Controversial Ship Captain Ali which was turned away by the Sri Lankan Navy few weeks ago after it entered to lankan waters illegally.

Sri Lankan Government agreed on this after Indian Government made a request to doing so.This was agreed during the talks with Sri Lankan Delegation who are in New Delhi including the Senior Adviser to the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksha Mr.Basil Raja[paksha and Defense Secretary along with Indian Counterparts.

The Ship Captain Ali is now anchored out side the Chennai Port is due to return to Sri Lanka soon to handover the relief Items donated by Tamil Diasphora in United Kingdom.The Ship Crew says that the relief matarial is for desthe he IDP'S in the Northern Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Forces Recovered 100KG Gold,Cash And Ammunition Hidden By LTTE

Sri Lankan Army Troops recovered 100 Kilo Grammes of Gold and Cash worth 6.5 Million Rupees hidden by the LTTE Rebels in a Search Operation conducted at Puthukudiyirippu area in Northern Sri Lanka yesterday.

Troops conducting search operations in Nine areas of the Vanni District in the North and recovered Ammunition including Three Thousand Seven Hundred And Eighty rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Gun.

Troops recovered another set of Ammunition during the search operation at the Eastern District of Trincomalee

One Hundred Fifty Thousand HIB Vaccines Were Expired At The Epidemeology Unit

Around One Hundred Fifty Thousand (150,000) HIB or Pantavalant Vaccines which is introduced to the Sri Lankan National Immunization Programme on January 2008 and later temporarily suspended due to child mortality were expired and stored in the Epidemiology Unit Stores Health Sources revealed.These Vaccines are worth around 15 Million Rupees according to the sources.

HIB Vaccine which can protect the infants from five diseases are prescribed for them at the ages of Two,Four and Six Months.This Vaccine was Temporarily removed from the National Immunization Campaign on April Last year as four infants were died after administered the Vaccine.However A World Health Organization Expert investigating on these Child Deaths and issued a report stating that the Vaccine has nothing to do with these deaths according to the Ministry of Health.

This HIB Vaccine stock was donated to Sri Lanka by the Gavy Foundation.

Even WHO Expert given a clearance to the Pantavalant Vaccine the inquiry report was not publicized and not re issued the Vaccine either.HIB Vaccine is administered to infants to protect against Diptheria,Whooping Cough,Tetanus,Hepatitis-B and Measles.

Sri lankan Swine Flu Patients Tally Increased To Eight

Another Three Swine Flu Patients including Two Female Philippine Nationals were identified from Sri Lanka yesterday on their Arrival at the Katunayaka International Air Port of Colombo as the total number of Swine Flu Patients reported here arisen to eight.
Other one identified as Swine Flu Patient was an eighteen year old Sri Lankan youth returned from London.

Two Philippine Patients were aged 28 and 40 are came to Sri Lanka from Manila on a Sri Lankan Air Lines Flight and due to fly for another destination on a Transit Flight when they were detected as showing Swine Flu symptoms at the Air Port.These three patients were sent to the Angoda Fever Hospital in Colombo Suburbs soon after detected their health status according to the Air Port Health Office.

Now there are Four Swine Flu Patients and two suspected Patients getting treatment at the fever hospital.
