Dengue Alert Level In Sri Lanka Raised As Deaths Incresed To 108

Eighteen Dengue Deaths were reported throughout the Island within last Thursday alone making the Health Authorities to raised the Alert Level on the Disease and implementing new regulations on destroying Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places.With the New number of Deaths the Total Number of Dengue Deaths reported throughout this year are increased to 108.Around 7890 Dengue Patients were reported up to last Friday.

Most number of Cases and Deaths were reported from the Colombo District according to the Epidemiology Unit.Health Authorities with the help from 5000 Members of the Civil Defense Force and the Police are conducting special Inspections on Dengue Breeding Places throughout the Colombo District on this weekend.

Yal Devi Train Resumed It's Journey To North

Sri Lankan Train 'Yal Devi"to day began their first journey to Tandikulam in the North after 20 years.The Train Services towards the Northern province were suspended due to the LTTE Threats and the war prevailed there at that time.Due to this from last Twenty Years Train Services were only running towards Vanni District.

Transport Minister Dallas Alahapperuma and few other Ministers were among the Passengers who are in the board of Yal Devi on it's Maiden Journey to Thandikulam.The Train reached the destination in Five and Half Hours.

Six Foreigners Including Three Australians Captured From The Sri Lankan IDP Camps

Sri Lankan Authorities yesterday Captured Six Foreigners including three Australians who were among In Displaced Persons (IDP'S)inside the Welfare Camps of Northern Sri Lanka. Government announced that the Three Australians captured are facing more than one year detention and there will be no special treatment or early release on them.Other foreign Nationals captured including a British,a Danish and a Norwegian.

Sri Lankan Authorities are Screening these Foreigners to find out Whether they are linked with LTTE.Meanwhile the Australian Embassy in Colombo says that they will try to gain counselor Access to the Three Australians believed to be Dual Australian/Sri Lankan Nationals.

Investigations On The Arrested Vessel Entered Ilegally In To Sri Lankan Waters Continues

The Investigations on the Vessel Captain Ali arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy yesterday are still underway and according to the Navy Sources except Food and Medicine no Weapons are there in the Vessel.
There are Food,Medicine,Water Bottles and Clutches for the Disabled are found inside the Vessel Sources added.Pro LTTE Associates in U.K were collected donations and dispatched them in to Sri Lanka from this Ship.

The Vessel is currently anchored near the Colombo Harbour under Navy Protection.Sri Lankan Government is due to take an action against the Vessel after Navy Search is finished.The 15 Member Crew of the Vessel including Iceland Naional who is a Member of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission and Two Sri Lankan Tamils holding British Passports Two Egyptians and 11 Syrians are still inside the Vessel.

This Vessal named as 'Mercy Mission to Vanni' and began it's journey from Ipswich Port in United Kingdom on 20th of April and bears the Syrian Flag

Dengue Alert In Sri Lanka

Dengue Epidemic is spreading fast in Sri Lanka as ever and 522 New Patients were reported from the Island during last 24 Hour Period Epidemiology Unit says to day.With this number the Total number of patients reported during this year up to now risen to 7792.

Every day more than 100 Dengue Patients are reported throughout the Island according to the Epidemiologists.Health Ministry appeals to the People to Clean their Enviornment by destroying the Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places to avoid the spreading of the Disease.

The Government decided to take the assistance of the Civil Security Force Members for the Dengue Awareness Programme and around 1000 of it's members were trained today in this regard.

Sri Lankan Navy Arrested The Vessal "Captian Ali "Entered Illegaly To Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lankan Navy arrested the Controversial Ship "Captian Ali" carrying Food and Medicine to IDP'S in the North with it's Crew which entered in to Sri Lankan Waters this evening without getting Permission from the Authorities.The Vessel is said to be carrying 884 Metric Tonnes of Food and Medicine for 330,000 IDP'S name their Mission as "Mercy Mission to Vanni".
The Vessel began their Journey from Ipswich Port in United Kingdom on 20th of April and through the Suez Canal crossed the Red Sea two weeks ago.A former Sri Lankan Monitoring Mission Member Kristjan Guðmundssonis is also in the Board along with Doctors and Humanitarian Workers.
The Vessal is equipped with Modern Sattalite Facilities and said to be filling daily Video Blogs,Photo Essays,Personal Reflections and twice Daily Reports on their Mission to Sri Lanka A Group who Chartered the Vessel said in a Statement.

When announcing the Mission of the Vessal to Sri Lanka,Sri Lankan Navy issued a Warning as saying their Naval Crafts will attack the Vessal if it enters in to the Sri Lankan Waters without getting Permission.

UN Security Council And Secretary General To Hold A Special Meeting On Sri Lanka

United Nations Security Council to hold a Special Meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on this Friday to discuss the Current Situation in Sri Lanka.This is the first time that the 15 Member Security Council meets to discuss on Sri Lanka since the War against Terrorism ended in the Country Council's President said.
