Expired Blood Kits Case-Thirty Eight Employees Of The National Blood Center Including Docs To Face Disciplinary Inquiry


Ministry Of Health Notified the Public Services Commission to Conduct an Disciplinary Inquiry on Thirty Eight Suspects attached to the National Blood Center -Colombo who are Proved to be Involved in Issuing of Expired Blood Kits to the Government Blood Banks.According to the Inquiry Report Of the Special Investigations Unit Of the Health Ministry These Persons are found Guilty on involving to the Incident.Majority of those Accused are Medical Officers and there are Administrative Officers,Store Keepers and Other Staff of the Blood Center also among them Ministry Sources said.
With these Thirty Eight The Total Number of People found to be Involved in this Expired Blood Kits Case risen to Forty Two.The Issuing of Expired Plasma Pherasis and A Pherasis Blood Kits To Four Government Blood Banks Rocks the Sri Lankan Health Sector In last July and the former Director of the National Blood Centre Dr.M.Bindusara,Medical Officer Dr.Lahir and Two Store Keepers of the Center were Interdicted by the Public Services Commission Due to their Direct Involvement to the Incident.

Sirasa To Award Prize Money For Information On Suspects Behind Yesterday's Attack


MTV/MBC Broadcasting Corporation Today(07) Announced that they will Awarded Rs,Five Million Prize Money for anyone who can provided an Information about the Gang Members who Burnt the Sirasa T.V Main Control At Depanama,Pannipitiya yesterday.Special Police Investigations Team is already carrying an Investigations on this Incident.But still no one related to the Incident get Arrested.
Meanwhile Large number of People's Organizations and Political Parties hold Protest Campaigns today in colombo and other parts of the country urging Government to Restore Media Freedom in the country and Punished Those who are behind this Incident.

Unidentified Gunmen Set Fire And Destroyed The MTV/MBC T.V Studios


Unidentified Armed Gang Attacked One of the Popular Sri Lankan Private Television and Broadcasting Corporation The MTV/MBC Studio Complex in Depanama Pannipitiya within the Colombo Suburbs this Morning Around 5.30 A.M and Set Fire and Destroyed It's Main Control Room.All Their Transmissions put into Halt for Hours Due To This .However Sirasa T.V their Sinhalese News Channel managed to Begin their Transmission few Hours After the Incident.
Government Condemned this act and Ordered an Impartial Inquiry on to the Incident.A Special Police Team is Conducting Further Investigations on this.

Sri Lankan Troops Liberated The Southern Elephant Pass-Captured Kilali And Muhamalai Defence Lines Too


Sri Lankan Troups who Entered the Elephant Pass Yesterday Liberated the Southern Part of Elephant Pass and Captured
the Kilali and Muhamalai Forward Defense lines in the Jafna Peninisula this Evening.These are the Only Defense lines Remained with the LTTE in Jafna After they were Militarily Defeated from there.Sri Lankan Troops Are Advancing Ahead Security Sources said.

Chikungunya Epidemic In Moneragala District-Around 1300 Patients Reported So Far


Chikungunya a Viral Fever Transmitted through the Dengue Insects "Eadis Egipty" and "Eadis AlboPicktus" is Spreading in The Moneragala District of the Uva Province-Sri Lanka These days According to the Epidemiology Unit.Around 1300 Chikungunya Patients have been Reported within One Month Period from Badalkumbura,dehithigama,thanthanna and Laggala areas in the District Epedeimiologists Stressed.50-60 Patients are Daily come to the Monaragala Base Hospital for getting Treatment These days.High Fever Lasted Four Days,Headache,Rash spreading Throughout the Body,Muscle and Body Pain are the Main Symptoms of the Chikungunya and Doctors Appealed from the Patients to take Medication from a Registered Government Doctors when Symptoms are Appeared.
Meanwhile The Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo District Pradeep Kariyawasem says that People in the Other Parts of the Country too need to Aware on the Disease as it may spread to other parts as well. .In January Last year Around 18 Chikungunya Patients Were reported from the Colombo District when the Dissese was Spreading in the Ratnapura District at that time.Destroying the Mosquito Breeding Places by Cleaning the Houses and Gardens is the only Measure can be taken to Prevent the Spreading of the Dissese He Urged.
